There are numerous resources for each class that can help you optimize your character by getting the latest updates on class changes, recommended builds, and gearing choices. BigWigs / Deadly Boss Mods - Boss mods will give you notifications and timers for important mechanics. It is quite important to have one of these and to configure it. Configuring it is vital as most of the notifications are not necessary to know and just end up as clutter.
WeakAuras - An essential addon for any raider. You can use it to do anything from basic cooldown tracking to advanced scripting. It's also very easy to import WeakAuras made by other people. Most of these can be found on wago.io
Method Raid Tools - This addon has a wide range of features. The two most important parts of this for me are:
Notes: You can share notes for assignments with your entire raid team with ease. (Similar functionality on its own can be found in Angry Assignments)
Cooldown Tracking: I have this set up to show me all external cooldowns so I know when they are available to be requested.
Sepulcher of the First Ones Weak Aura Package - This package made by Causese contains notifications for every boss. You should configure and customise these as you see fit.
Sepulcher of the First Ones Co-Tank WeakAuras - This package has custom options for every tanking mechanic and can be set up to make audio/visual alerts for when you need to execute a tank swap.
BDGG Progression WeakAuras - This package has boss specific WeakAuras from the guild BDGG including some assignment WeakAuras that are very valuable for progression. Explainations on boss specific WeakAuras will be available on the Mythic Pages of encounters where this is relevant.
More fight specific WeakAuras will be added as they become available over progress.
